Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 11, 2026

Tayib is designed to work without knowing who you are: no account, no ads, no tracking. This page describes exactly what stays on your iPhone, what goes over the network, and why.

1. Who is responsible

The Tayib app and the tayib-app.com website are published by A.M.S, a company based in France ("we"). For any question about your data: contact@tayib-app.com.

2. No account, no ads, no tracking

Tayib does not ask for your name, email or phone number. The app contains no analytics tool, no ad network and no tracking or profiling SDK, and it does not follow you across apps. It therefore does not request tracking permission (App Tracking Transparency).

3. What stays on your iPhone

The following data is stored only on your device (SQLite database and local storage) and is never sent to us:

  • the history of scanned products, your weekly report and your folders;
  • your settings: school of law (madhhab), preferences, language;
  • allergies you record for yourself and your family (Tayib+);
  • downloaded offline packs (Tayib+).

You can clear your history in the app; deleting the app erases everything else. This data may be included in your device's iCloud backups, depending on your Apple settings.

4. Camera and photos

The camera is used to read barcodes and photograph ingredient lists. You can also pick a photo from your library. Reading the label text and cutting out product images happen on your iPhone: these images are not sent to our servers — we don't have any.

5. What goes over the network

To work, the app contacts third-party services directly. Like any Internet request, they receive your IP address, and only the information needed:

  • Open Food Facts (and Open Beauty Facts for cosmetics) — the barcode of the scanned product, to fetch its page; search text (Tayib+); the barcode to show an observed price. An open, collaborative database run by a French non-profit.
  • RappelConso (data.economie.gouv.fr, French Ministry of the Economy) — the barcode, to check whether a product is subject to an official recall.
  • GitHub — downloading your country's offline packs (Tayib+).
  • Expo (EAS Update) — checking for and downloading app updates, with technical information (app version, platform).
  • Apple and RevenueCat — purchasing and renewing Tayib+ (see section 6).

6. Tayib+ purchases

Payment is handled entirely by Apple: we never see your payment details or your Apple ID. To know whether your subscription is active, the app uses RevenueCat, which receives the purchase information passed on by Apple, linked to an anonymous identifier generated by the app. This identifier is not tied to any personal data.

7. Contributing to Open Food Facts (optional)

If a product is missing, you can add it to Open Food Facts from the app: name, brand, ingredients and photos. This requires your own Open Food Facts account; your username and password are kept in your device's iOS Keychain and sent only to Open Food Facts. The information and photos you publish become public under Open Food Facts' open licences.

8. The tayib-app.com website

The website uses no analytics cookies, no ads and no tracking. Our host (Netlify) processes technical logs (IP address, requested page) to serve and protect the site.

9. Your rights

As we hold no personal data about you, most of your data is under your sole control, on your device. You nevertheless have the rights provided by the GDPR (access, rectification, erasure, objection): write to contact@tayib-app.com. You may also contact your data protection authority (in France, the CNIL). For data processed by Open Food Facts, Apple or RevenueCat, their own policies apply.

10. Children

Tayib does not knowingly collect any personal data, including from children.

11. Changes

If our practices change, this page will be updated and its date changed. Significant changes will be announced in the app.
